The Hungarian–Serbian Conference on Drought: Practical Climate Adaptation Solutions in Agriculture was held in November at the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina in Novi Sad (Serbia). The event was co-organised by the Embassy of Hungary, the Ministry of Agriculture of Serbia, CED and several institutional partners.
During the conference, Prof. Branislava Lalić from the Faculty of Agriculture – University of Novi Sad presented research results and insights from several ongoing initiatives, including the ClimaPannonia project, highlighting the role of science in supporting climate adaptation in agriculture.
Her presentation emphasised the importance of understanding seasonal patterns and climate signals, supported by reliable agrometeorological data and stronger cooperation between science and farmers.
These elements are increasingly recognised as key factors in strengthening agriculture’s ability to adapt to drought and other climate-related challenges across the region.
