Roundtable discussions brought gender-related perspectives into focus during a recent event dedicated to agricultural transformation in the Pannonian region. The discussions created space for open dialogue on the challenges and opportunities faced by women working in agriculture and rural communities.

Participants addressed two key topics:

  • The challenges women encounter in the agricultural sector across the Pannonian region
  • The opportunities emerging in a rapidly changing agricultural landscape

The discussions highlighted the importance of increasing awareness of the broader impacts of climate change, which often affect communities in different ways, including through gender-specific dimensions.

Speakers also reflected on the continuing question of how women’s voices are represented and heard in decision-making processes related to agriculture, rural development and environmental policy. It was emphasized that women often play a proactive and solution-oriented role in agricultural systems, contributing significantly to community resilience and innovation.

Although ClimaPannonia is not specifically focused on gender issues, it actively promotes principles of equity, inclusion and responsible innovation. Through dialogue, research and engagement with stakeholders, the project contributes to broader European efforts aimed at strengthening equality and participation within the agricultural sector.

The roundtables reaffirmed the importance of inclusive conversations and diverse perspectives in shaping resilient agricultural systems and supporting the long-term transformation of agriculture in the region.
